DEJA VU

Jasmine Elnadeem

Moving to a new country, trying to fit in as much as possible isn’t an easy task.

I won’t hide that lately I have been feeling emotionally overwhelmed. I know that I don’t show that and I usually smile at people’s faces but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel very tired. Too much to handle at one time.

I actually for the first time not being able to predict my own emotional state. Many want too much from me, too much of the time.

Yes everyone has triggers that make them more vulnerable to react to them, and unfortunately someone just pushed those triggers and made me remember an earlier trauma from a previous experience in my life.

But they say that flat tires are simply our opportunity to pull over and stop, to face our problems and to reevaluate the road we’re on.

So from now on, I won’t distract myself, but rather reframe my thoughts to manage my emotions.

Now I wrote about them, tomorrow I will talk with safe people and maybe one day I will learn how to cry them out when alone!

YOU THINK BIG .. YOU GET BIG

It might sound like a CLICHÉ but your comfort zone is a place where you keep yourself in a self-illusion and nothing can grow there. On the other side if you dream big, work hard on those dreams then your potentiality can grow out of that zone.

Unfortunately many internal and external forces conspire to make us think small. We are raised to be afraid of failure or the social disapproval.

Why limit yourself?

Thinking big is all about attitude. Believe that you can do it and you will be able to do it.

Thinking small leads to living small; thinking big leads to living big. The more you expect out of life, the more you will actually get from life.

So visualize all the steps needed to complete your dreams and start working on them 🙂

I don’t really remember when was the last time I filled in a colouring book because things has changed so quickly.

But colouring isn’t no longer just for kids and I found out that colouring books are topping again bestsellers lists as they help people to relax.

Colouring books allow me to control my emotions which have been affected by stress. They take me to those lovely memories of my childhood, a period with less stress for sure.

Colouring  or painting is incredibly good for your brain as you just sit and focus on what colour to take next.

So if you need some stress relief m, grab one of those books and start colouring one of its gorgeous print.

Hugs ❤
