WHO IS…YAYOI KUSAMA?

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist who is sometimes called ‘the princess of polka dots’. Although she makes lots of different types of art – paintings, sculptures, performances and installations – they have one thing in common…dots!

Suffering from an obsessive compulsive disorder affected her relationship with her family, Kusama moved to New York City in the ’50s, using every bit of money she had to buy canvases and paint.

“I was always hungry and cold. I wanted to die but kept painting.” Her dedication and hard workings eventually led her to worldwide recognition.

They say when you can overcame dark days with the power of art, and I was lucky to have a beautiful heart in my life who took me to that great exhibition.

Activities like painting, sculpting or drawing, and photography can be very relaxing and rewarding hobbies that can lower your stress levels and leave you feeling mentally clear and calm.

You don’t need to create paintings to distract yourself, visiting art places art can give your brain a break from your usual thoughts.

Have a lovely Sunday y’all, J

PAUSE FOR THOUGHTS

Jasmine ElnadeemJasmine ElnadeemJasmine ElnadeemJasmine Elnadeem

Life is sometime like roller coaster. You get hurt, you forgive, you will be happy, then you will be hurt again.

Sometimes we do the same mistakes because of an emotional need or because of being unable to change. Sure it hurts? But when you get to a point when you cry more than you laugh, then you might start to realize that you need a change in your life.

In bad times true friends show up, and those who liked you for other reasons fade away.

True friends are those who you can embrace your weirdness with them. You can be emotional, you can laugh and cry without fear.

Friends are important but as I grow up, I learn to stop having those who use me or take me for granted.

Yes we are all social creatures and we love communication with people, but I like to do that with people I love.

I connect with those who bring happiness to me, support me and stay with you in the darker times. Surrounding yourself with feel-good people is a sure way to happiness.

Some of my friends don’t live in Sweden but they inspire me and relieve my tension on the bad days.

I always wait for my daily Snapchat “Bonjour” and the Whatsapp funny pictures.

It was great to see my best friend in Amman, Jordan who took good care of me and I felt like a princess.

I’m counting down to be reunited with those who really care for me.

It is never late to make new friends, but we need to choose well.

XOXO

THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME | WADI MUJIB

Jasmine ElnadeemWadi MujibJasmine Elnadeem

Hey girls and guys, OMG I finished a tough and exciting adventure in Wadi Mujib.

Personally I didn’t know the place  but thanks to my friend who sent me with some of his German friends who have been there before, I got to experience one of the most fun adventures ever.

The hike we did today had a guide front us. It was like hiking except that you had to walk in the flooded waterfalls along the way.

Hahahaha I had my leather REEBOK shoes on, as I didn’t know where they are taking me. Bye Bye pretty shoes, you were so good to me!

My experience in Wadi Mujib was amazing. The canyon was beautiful and the water was nice and cool. I really had so much fun walking through the stream, climbing up the water falls though I had to be pushed up twice hahahaha, and the tour guides were so nice and helpful.

The walk was harder than I expected. In fact, it actually would not have been possible without the presence of the guide and my friends who had to lift me up over some rocks.

The hike back was more fun. It’s a lot easier to slide down waterfalls than to ascend them. WOW I didn’t laugh as much as I did during the way back.

By the time we got back to the cliff, my poor shoes were completely filled with small sand from walking through the stream, but it was a great trip indeed.

Wadi Mujib is a genuinely remote and wild place, the lowest nature reserve on earth south of Amman.

XOXO from Amman, J
