Kvarg med Granola

DSCF1382

Granola on repeat!! YES, I’ve practically been living off granola lately, LOL! It’s just so incredibly delicious. But we have actually run out now and I think I will need to get another batch. I don’t really crave anything but this golden crunch when I have a jar full of it at home.

I do mix the granola with kvarg (quark) and add some fresh fruits or a bit of white honey.

kvarg

Why Quark?

Quark is the next big thing in nutrition. It’s tasty, filling, and it dominates Greek yoghurt in just about every nutritional aspect.

Quark is a fresh dairy product, popular in German-speaking countries, Slavic countries, and northern Europe. It has many different names in different languages, many of which pronounce it “kvarg”.

Dictionaries typically define quark as curd or cottage cheese, however unlike most commercial cheeses, quark contains neither rennet nor added salt.

And despite a very similar texture and appearance to Greek yoghurt, quark is not a yoghurt either.

Quark is high in protein … Much more so than Greek yoghurt. This is why flavoured quark is so popular in fitness communities, particularly in Scandinavian countries as Sweden where it is well-known.

Enjoy, Puss Puss 🙂

Oh yeah it was a sunny ⓌⒺⒺⓀ – ⒺⓃⒹ ..

Even though you might feel like a zombie when you crawl out of bed in the morning, it’s still going to be the best time to give anything your full attention – after you’re fully awake that is!

Boom Boom yesterday I wake up early to join my cupcake Jamie Sallmén Cardio Walking class which is gonna be every Saturday at 10.00 AM at Nordic Wellness Odenplan in Stockholm, Sweden.

I’m always looking for ways to work smarter, not just harder. Everyone knows that you’ll only lose weight if ultimately you consume less calories than you burn. That’s why I love Jamie’s class because walking first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is one of the best tips on how to naturally jumpstart and boost your metabolism.

After the gym, we (me, Jamie and Sara) went for a healthy lunch at “Reload Super Food Bar”. Relaod is a place where you can load and reload with super healthy and super tasty dishes, snacks and choices made with carefully selected ingredients.

Need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city? Looking for a beach in Stockholm?

Later on, we headed to Fredhällsbadet (Location: Kungsholmen, T-bana Kristineberg).

This place is worth a visit if you just want a picnic on the cliffs or are an experienced swimmer. With views over lake Mälaren, this is a haven for those seeking refuge from noisy children and they really take their bathing experience seriously – there’s even a club.

If you live in Sweden you may notice a difference in atmosphere during summer months. On these warm summer days you will find most Swedes enjoying their long summer holidays either abroad or soaking up the rays at one of the many Swedish beaches.

The day ended with my little Shisha (Hookah), which was a fun way to relax at home. Hookah has a long, rich history in the Middle East. In these countries smoking shisha is a real ritual that symbolizes friendship and brotherhood. A relaxing break with friends, to be lived comfortably at home or more often in dedicated spaces and coffee shops.

Oh what a fun day! So how was your weekend?

Eid in Egypt ღ

Nile_Cairo

It is feast and vacations usually conjure up images of relaxing with a cocktail by the beach, under the lovely sun.

But if you live in Cairo you will prefer to stay in it during Eid, because you can enjoy the empty streets and there are lots of things to do to enjoy this vacation.

The best place to really observe the beauty of a nearly-empty Cairo is the Cairo Tower and some hotels in Zamalek.

Pyramids

You can also pay a visit to the pyramids and enjoy the ideal time to take those typically tourist photos of the Pyramids. Then right before sunset, rent a felucca, and relax while looking at the sunset view on the Nile.

In the end I wish you a good vacation wherever you are right now.
